WCS is expanding further and we are excited about all of the updates that are coming to make our office a more inviting and comfortable place for you.
As of October 1, 2013 all patients will be entered into the Electronic Medical Record System (EMR). The US Government mandates that all medical practices participate in an EMR program. During this transition of acclimating ourselves to the new system and entering patient history and data, you may experience a longer wait time. We ask for your patience during this transitional period and we can assure you that once we have a majority of patients’ information in within this year you will see less wait time for your appointment in Fall of 2014. To help reduce your wait time we encourage you go to our website www.wcs-stl.com and print off the new patient paperwork and have that information filled out prior to your appointment even if you are not a new patient to the practice.
Fall 2013 and winter 2014 are both exciting times in our offices as we expand and update at both locations to accommodate the increase in patients that have recently joined WCS when Dr. McLaughlin and Dr. Pennycook joined. We appreciate your patience during the construction and look forward to a more comfortable and efficient medical office for you. We are happy to welcome all of our new patients and hope to make our offices even better for our loyal existing patients.
In October 2013 the St. Peter’s location construction began and we now offer a more spacious waiting room for you and your family’s comfort as well as the addition of more exam rooms to reduce your wait time to see your provider.
In early 2014 construction will begin at the St. Luke’s office location to also add additional exam rooms to facilitate an easier more efficient flow. Unfortunately, at this time we will not be able to expand the waiting room due to a lack of space offered at St. Luke’s but we do have plans for the future when neighboring office space becomes available. We understand that on the days there are multiple providers and ultrasounds being performed the waiting room may become crowed, we still ask that you limit the number of family members you bring with you to your appointments and hope that the addition of exam rooms will help to keep the waiting room more comfortable for our patients.
Our website is also under construction. We are working closely with our IT department to update our website and to add biographies on our two new physicians and pictures. Paper work is being updated as well as new blog entries that are soon to come again. Due to the recent increase in charting with the EMR system the uploading of blog entries have been temporally halted. We have some very exciting topics that are ready for publish soon so please keep checking back for those to posts.
As always, you, our patients, are our number one priority and we strive to constantly provide the best care. WCS is working hard to make the improvements necessary to improve efficiency, to provide comfort, and to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation.
